People moving forward

People moving forward

A friend of mine finally had her dream come true. And all her prayers answered after so many years. She's going off to India to pursue her dreams of becoming a doctor :) I say, good for her! It took her so much sacrifice, and so many years to get here. I'm very impressed. And humbled.

On another note, two good friends of mine have just got unofficially engaged. I'm not mentioning names, because I'm sure they'd like others to hear it from them, rather than from me, but to them, I say: Congratulations!! It's about time :D Hehehe...

You, Me and Dupree was rather slow :P but it picked up speed towards the end. And Kate Hudson is soooo pweetttiiieeee.... It makes up for a lot :P

oh no worries, the 2 i was talking about aren't kuchingites :D

but this year we have like, what, 11 wedding/ engagements in our year? scary laaa.... :D

jenny, jojo, nancy&kenny, charles, kiran, edward, joeliu, a couple from C class, alamak, chong kin fah :P 2 of my classmates from uni. yikes, man.... scary.... note that these ppl are like 24, 25, 26 :P hmmm... maybe I got my priorities all wrong, n i should be husband-hunting. HAHAHA!!! but but.... i just can't get past years of pre-conditioning :) study, get a stable job, THEN settle down

yeah man, EXACTLY in that order. have to get a job then settle down. and even when u get a stable job, dun get married too quickly, need to climb the ladder first!

Man, i shudder at the tot of being married. cos at that moment we become our mothers...which aint too bad, jst that it means we are going to be OLDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahaha, sorry ma.

then after that what? have kids, work summore then what??????????????????

life seems so short.

shit dida, u making me depress! like all there is to life is work, have kids, eat, sleep, shit and then grow old and die.

omigod, that cannot be my epitaph on my tombstone!! MUST DO MORE WITH LIFE!!

Gawd, woman! don't be a goose :) i think we're as yet unprepared to be married, perhaps that's why i'm a lil commitmentphobic :P if i'll be perfectly honest with myself. maybe i'm a lil afraid a man might tie me down. or rather, i'd tie myself down when i have a man in my life. maybe that's why i'm content to be single, although i whine about never having had a bf. hehehe...

but i do believe in taking things step by step. such a huge commitment need not hamper a woman, i think marriage n children can stretch and fulfil a woman. it just depends on whether or not said woman is prepared or willing to have a paradigm shift, n make some compromises.

i think it also depends on what a woman finds important in life. our mothers were happy settling down n having a family at 23/ 24 :P we, on the other hand, want to pursue so much more. i feel incomplete, still. i think i'd feel incomplete even if i have a good man to snuggle in bed with now, with a diamond solitaire on my finger. i want to do so much more with my life!

:D there's more to life than work, and family in just that sense of the word. we can touch the lives of the people around us. our work can be an extension of our dreams and hopes. there's so much to live for. there's so much more we can offer.

we mustn't let our dreams crumble and die. carpe diem :) carpe noctum, too! ;) live life with passion, no? we are, after all, women. hear us roar! *with a wink and a nod to Savante about his Ain't No Other Man post* lol :)

not all women are waterlilies, k? we don't all float tranquilly in ponds and sway to the movement of the winds in our lives :) we have dreams, and ambition, too! life is precious, and time is so short!

marriage - kids = bliss

yeap. but if she DOES plan to have kids, have them preferably before 30 :D don't have kids if u still have many plans, n if u aren't ready for the responsibility. hehe... i wonder how my mom managed to look relatively young? hmmm.....
